I passed by here on my way to Coles, and spoke with the girl standing outside, and just happened to speak to the chef as well who was there. I spent some time in Spain and am familiar with Spanish cuisine, and while their prices are high (it's a touristy neighborhood,) I felt that the chef's knowledge of his own cuisine was genuine. I came to eat there with my wife the next night, and I really enjoyed everything we ate. We started with the chicken meatballs, the chorizo with aioli, and the croquettes - all of which were absolutely delicious. Each of the three was beautifully presented, and the taste really was excellent. Both of us enjoyed each plate we had, and they all came out in about 15 minutes. A+ for the tapas! We then ordered 1 chicken paella to share, which took about 20 minutes to be brought out, and that too was very good. I'd say the chicken was not as flavorful as I'd had in the past, and probably wasn't cooked in the spices for long enough, but I'd still give it an A- as it was very tasty. Lastly, I give them a pretty hard knock for the "Mojito" that I got. I've been on holiday here for a week, and with ALL the bars and restaurants here that do make good alcoholic drinks, this one was pretty amateur. Its presentation was poor, it had none of the actual ingredients of a mojito, and kind of felt like the used mojito syrup or something. It tasted okay, but overall I would give it a C-. A few other thoughts - There were 2 other parties at the restaurant when we went - so it wasn't overly crowded; this may have had something to do with our food coming out so quickly (in opposition to what some people said about the food taking a long, long time.) I had prepped myself for an hour wait, but was very pleased with the speed of delivery. We stayed for about an hour overall, and the service was just excellent. The female waitress was very friendly and talked to us about the items we ordered. The chef came out to say goodbye to us. I spoke to them in Spanish, so it may have affected their level of service, (as others have complained about it,) but I found absolutely no fault with anything apart of the drink I ordered. The food was a bit pricey - not something I'd eat all the time, but as I'm on holiday, spending $80 on dinner was not something I minded doing. Overall - I would give the restaurant an A, and I'd eat there again.
