The Bridle Track is a popular four wheel drive track which commences ten kilometres west of Melrose. The track provides an opportunity for not only a great challenging drive, but also some of the most outstanding views in the Southern Flinders Ranges. Accessed via Survey Road from the Port Germein Gorge, this area abounds with natural beauty. To gain the best views it is essential to travel the track east to west. The track encompasses some easier sections on the way up that conventional vehicles can negotiate, however the spectacular descent is definitely four-wheel-drive only. The kangaroos and other wildlife that can be spotted at any time are particularly prevalent at dusk, to cap off a truly enjoyable experience.
